Assessment help to satisfy a number of different purposes in addition to learners learning, such as classifying achievement, quality assurance and supporting lifelong learning. As a teacher/ lecturer, I first organised initial assessment for my learners to test their knowledge of the course and level of literacy and numeracy due to the nature of the course. My class can be a mixture of different learners, some having done the course before and just need to repeat that level and others just starting completely. The information gathered from initially assessment of my learners will be taken into consideration seriously when designing my sessions because not all my learners will be in the same academy level and also how to meet their needs. I will ensure my session is designed in details, recommend necessary books to help and delivered on a timely manner in order for my learners to achieve their goal, to pass the external examination with excellent grade and make progress. In order for teaching to be very effective and also constantly monitoring my learner’s progress, I do organise tutorial for my learners which is mostly treating individual questions on pass topics and also opportunity work with them. They are put in a smaller group which will help them to participate more in class activities, learn from others and improve their confident on the course.
