Section 1 – Understand how to support the organisation of a business event
1. When organising a business event, describe the range of support activities that may be required.
There is a wide range of support activities for a number of different events. You should start with a clear detailed plan and have deadlines to work to this is to help ensure that there is as little a chance of a problem arising as possible. Other support activities that may be required are booking a venue for the event, speakers and any equipment needed and ensuring any special needs are met. Publicise the event and send out invites to appropriate people making sure the right people attend. Get documents and other paperwork ready for the event and people attending and arrange any refreshments/food (dependant on type of event being held). Throughout the event and after the support continues by greeting and registering attendees, issuing paperwork and other items needed, look after speakers and attendees and making sure they are happy, take notes on the event and any feedback given and communicate with the staff. This will also help to minimise the chance of problems.
