Unit 5 Assingment

The professional I’ve chosen to interview is a security officer who works in a federal building, whom works under the Secretary, Julian Castro, for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. His name is Sean Joyner. I’ve also arranged an alternate interviewee in case my main interviewee becomes unavailable. The first is a close friend whom has had experiences within the criminal justice system in which he believes race, gender and socioeconomic status has played a role in this encounters. His name is Jason Harmone and is currently working as an Office Manager for a low-income clinic. I am still currently working on a third but am sure one of the two will be available. I chose Sean Joyner, federal security officer, because I felt it was obvious that in his everyday position he deals with a diversity of individuals while fulfilling his job duties in providing security for a federal building. My second interviewee is a close friend of mine whom has had experiences with the criminal justice system, where he feels as though his race, gender has been a factor in his experiences. I plan to interview my first interviewee on June the 9th, 2015, during a lunch break hour. If Sean Joyer is unable to keep the date for our interview on this date, he will attempt to reschedule for the same week. If Sean is unable to fulfill our arrangements, I will need to meet with my second interview Jason Harmone, which the dates are more flexible and can be arranged before June 12th, 2015. I plan to focus my final project on human relationships within our diverse society by asking my main interviewee questions that provide how he sees or deals with the diversity that may be present in his daily duties when interacting with the public. With my second interviewee I plan to ask questions and obtain information on how his dealings and encounters with law enforcement have concluded to be based on race and gender and his socioeconomic status.
