Unit 4 Per Diary Task
Unit 5 Practice Evidence Record Diary Task 1
P5.1- An example of a way I have worked as part of a team is helping out in the 2-3 years old room when the room was busy and the setting was less of staff. Another example of a way I worked as part of a team was by helping the practitioners follow parent’s wishes. An example of this was ensuring the babies did not sleep for longer than their parents had said. For example there were twins who were 11 months old who came to the setting at 8am till 4pm and were only allowed to sleep for an hour while in the setting. Another way I worked as part of a team in the setting was to ensure at meal times one of the children didn’t eat any of the foods they were allergic to or that was not able to eat due to their religion.

I worked as part of a team to ensure the setting was safe for the children at all times. For example if the sand pit or the water tray was out, the setting made it my responsibility to sweep up any spilt sand or mop up and spilt water to prevent an accident. Another way I worked as part of a team in the setting is by keeping all children safe when information parents about their child only. For example when a incident occurred I was aware that child “B” had taken a hard hit to its head, which had an impacted on the child. Which is where I then asked another member of staff on duty to supervise child “B” next to them, this is where i went to go find the practitioner to ask them for a private word to discuss an incident that occurred.

The practitioner at the end of the discussion asked me to go take an ice pack over to child “B”. I was also asked by a practitioner to write down what had happened in the accident records. I was able to understand that child “B” was hurt and was not to be left alone while I was trying to find the practitioner due to safely reasons because the child must not be left alone at any time unattended in such a state.

Once I had preformed this action I was asked by the
