I provide a positive relationship with the child through daily routines and interactions allowing growth in in their development of self and others. Each morning I ensure that I greet each child and parent when they arrive. In greeting the child I will always address the child by his/her name and encourage the other children to say good morning. I feel this gives the child and parent a sense of trust and security for a safe and secure environment and this acknowledgment makes the child feel special and welcome in the class. In the mornings I also have open centers where the children can go around and greet the other student and to move and work at their own pace. I also find some way to praise the class and each child daily. I provide opportunities for the children to always feel successful and proud of themselves. All children have different rates of development and different personalities. Knowing this can help us be patient. I show children that I really care about them by accepting each child as an individual. I help children with developing social skills, Self- control, problem-solving skills, and the ability to act independently.…

When working within a classroom the children they are taught to call you Miss, Mrs or Mr and your surname so they understand who is in charge and it also shows respect for authority. You need to speak to the children in a way in which they understand for the age range you are working with to explain what they need to do. If the children are being noisy or doing something you don’t agree with you need to use a firm voice to communicate your disagreement with what they are doing and then tell them what they need to be doing. You also need to come up with fun and interesting ways to encourage or make learning easier to understand. Give praise when they have completed a task, answered a question correctly or given information relevant to the lesson in hand. You need to be organised so that you can plan what to do for the day for example you have decided to do some painting with the class for the first lesson so before the children come to school get the paint and paper ready so as soon as you have marked the register you can start, a consequence of poor organisation would be that if the teacher didn’t know what they was going to do and then decided to paint they would start late and then the lesson would end latter and if someone wanted the paints after the lesson they would have to start late as well. Teamwork is when a group of people work together in a team to support one another, be patient and listen to everything everyone has to say, make sure everyone says their opinion because there need to be lots of communication.
