Unit 2 Qualitative Research
Two quantitative questions:
1.) How many days until you graduate from CSU? This would be the interval or ratio scale of measurement.
2.) How many hours per week do you spend on your classes? The question is an interval or ratio scale of measurement.
The quantitative questions are designed to measure if students study less or more depending on how close they are to graduation. Perhaps students that are closer to graduating spend more time as they see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Two qualitative questions:
1.) Where is your favorite place to study? Use the number 1 for home, or the number 2 for another location. This is a categorical question with a categorical variable.
2.) How would you rate your commitment to your CSU classes

After browsing around the website for Social Research Methods, I found various topics to choose from. Once I found the table of contents, there were topics from how to format your paper to how to make sure the project is both a valid and reliable piece of work. The two topics that I chose to be the most helpful were types of questions and the cycle of planning-evaluation. The first topic I found helpful was the topic on the types of questions that could bring more focus to a research project. This topic covers three different questions, Descriptive, Relational, and Casual, which are described by what kind of project could be addressed by it. Other people could find the topic helpful if they need help or are confused with how they should go about their research project. Depending on what they wanted to research, changes what question from the topic they would choose. For the second topic I chose, it covers the research process of the Planning-Evaluation Cycle. Each part of the cycle has its own stages to follow to help guide how and what research should be done. Myself, and probably a lot of others would find this helpful to organize and prep for a research project. With stages to follow, it is a good way to map out your project details to make it easier while carrying it out. All of the topics found on this website could be useful to people who get stuck or need some help keeping their project flow easier. There are copious amounts of topics to look at, one of them bound to be helpful during a research project. The two that I chose for this assignment seem to me to be the most helpful in doing a project; each of them possibly making research go more smoothly. I would strongly recommend these two topics for other student s to look and even use while thy are doing research.…
