Analyse your contribution to the selection process in a given situation

In my interview I have had 1 candidate, to make sure that everything was followed right and I have not missed any questions I made sure that protocol was prepared. I have included the ten questions I wanted to ask the interviewee. I have also prepared the list of the documents they meant to prepare to be successful. As for an interview everything is meant to stay confidential. I have made sure that none of the personal information from the interviewee was spread or given to someone else with the benefit. It is very important to be confidential in this interview and so everything stays with the company.

These days fairness at a interview place is very important and essential as it leads to the future of the company, I have to make sure that I am 100% fair and and not misjudge any positive aspects or the negative ones. In the interview the atmosphere and environment is a really important thing as it can put off the interviewee. I had to make sure that I was being nice and smiley to the person to create the best atmosphere possible to make them confident and not stressed. I had to check the questions that were being asked to confirm that they were correct not to make a mistake. Before the interview I have checked the interviewee’s personal details such as their personal details, the workplace details, the application form, by doing this it would give me a brief about a personal and not to make any mistakes. I have made a selection grid which to mark candidates performance when they were being interviewed.

For the interview to be fully prepared and confident, you have to have good communication skills, you need to know how to approach and talk to the interviewer in order to success. The interviewers are looking for good talk and good knowledge about the business industry, as well as approaching with appropriate tone and not be shy. In my interview, the interviewee could of been more talkative and more confident in order to persuade me into her position to get the job. She was not much confident about the business and herself. Candidates have to be really polite. Avoid interrupting or trying to redirect the conversation to your concerns, by saying something like, “If you think that’s bad, let me tell you what happened to me.” Show your interest in what’s being said. Nod occasionally, smile at the interviewer, and make sure your posture is open and inviting. Encourage the interviewer to continue with small verbal comments like “yes” or “uh huh.”

Listening skills are very essential; the interviewee has to listen to what the interviewer has to say carefully and other way round. It is very essential as the candidates can pick up what they are saying with care and then interpret it in their mind and may be make suggestions or make an correct answer. My interviewee had good listening skills as they approached me correctly, listened with care and they interpreted into their saying. However in some occasions they were not sure what i meant which did not make a good impression

Body language influences a first impression, but some research indicates it might be as high as 90% responsible for the first impression you create. It makes a big role as from the body language we can scan the person and judge how the person is acting or could be acting in the business, so the candidate had to make a good impression. If a person is putting their sight off wondering somewhere else it’s not good. My candidate was not very confident with the body language. The improvements could be Showing more confidence through their body movement and position. Sit up straight, smile, and show that you are in control of yourself and confident in what you're saying. Stay eye contacted, my candidate was not quite on point with eye contact, which did not make a good impression. Nod when people are talking. This indicates that you are listening. But take care not to overdo it. My candidate was quite neutral with what I was saying which a good thing wasn’t.

I wanted and did better in being an interviewee. I am a good communicated and confident person that likes to talk to people and communicate with people in any situation. Therefore my stronger site would be describing me and talking to the interviewer expressing my person and experience. I talked confidently expressing my suggestions and answering questions. It is an easier task to talk and speak rather than listening and judging people therefore I preferred to be a interviewee

After the interview is done and the candidate is successfully picked on the vacancy and the candidate gets an offer from the business for the position applied they would be waiting for the contract of employment where all the rules and responsibilities, wages and stuff to arrive for them to sign and agree. Some businesses might not tolerate straight up permanent contract so they put their fresh candidates on probation where they are being tested for a period of time given usually 6 months. In that time if they are not good enough than the business can appeal to fire them. Many big companies offer training for new candidates no matter if they are experienced or not. It’s to make sure that they will bring the best service to the company and to make sure that everything is clear and that they will follow orders correctly.

Question asked during a situational interview are describing the candidate’s behaviour and resolution when they encountered a certain situation by giving them a problematic or complex scenario. Behavioural interview differs slightly from situational interview whereby the interviewer questioned the candidate on how the candidate reacted to a certain situation in the past. A job-related question is when the interviewer asks the candidate about relevant past work experiences and job scopes. Some interviewers will do a stress interview on their candidates, whereby the interviewers will aim to make the candidates uncomfortable and occasionally ask non-job related, inappropriate and rude questions in order to find out on the candidates stress tolerance. After the interview, you should follow up with a thank you letter to the employer. Be sure to keep up with the date and the interviewer’s name. Everyone makes mistakes in an interview, but its best to succeed through it. You should never arrive late for interview, which shows the employer that you’re irresponsible and not devoted to the job.
