1.1 Explain what is ment by
Diversity means that it outlines the differences between people and the fact that we are all different. We all have characteristics that outlines us as individuals these can include age, gender, appearance, race, religion, all abilities as well as talents.
Equality means treating everyone with fairness and respect and recognising the needs of the individuals and given equal opportunites without discrimination of sex age or religion.
Inclusion means to include everyone within the group or in your care and not leave anybody out because of there age race religion or abilities.
Discrimination means many different ways that people can discrimante against another person e.g you could be discriminated against because of your age (to old or to young) different colour of skin your religion as you pray to a different god or believe in different things. Or even for having a disability or even a talent or mental imparements or not able bodied.
1.2. Describe the potential effects of discrimination.
The potential effects of discrimination can be different for different people. The effects can be physical or emontional.
Physical effects can be poor appetite – change in eating habits
Loss/gain of weight, headaches, brusies, ulcers, deterioration of health increased behaviour problems, lack of achievement.
Emontional effects can be fear of rejection, stress, humiliation, loss of motivation, low self worth, lack of trust, loss of self esteem, low self image, these can all be signs of discrimination.
1.3Explain the importance of inclusive practice in promoting equality and supporting diversity.
The importance if incluisive practice is about how your attitude, approach, and stratiegies are taken to insure that the people are not excluded or isolated. It means diversity by accepting and welcoming
