The Johnson Company can do several things to reach out to new customers. Even though many companies still use them, the yellow pages are all but obsolete and viewed by a low number of people. Most companies utilize websites and social media to attract customers. The Johnson Company can create these to get their name out on the internet. In conjunction with these websites, they could utilize web advertising services such as Google advertisements or banner ads. Additionally, they could contact their local cable providers to film commercials to air on television. To stand out from other businesses, the best thing they can do is maintain their high level of customer service, while implementing changes in technology to keep with the times. With that, they can continue to meet the needs of their current customers. Having a website with 24 hour availability and web ordering, phone ordering, and easy communication methods to the office will help keep them in the race against the competition. They would need to establish a computer ordering system that can have orders submitted from online orders, or have them manually inputted by employees taking orders over the phone or in person. Instead of analog phones, they could upgrade to digital or VoIP to provide better call quality. The website and social media mentioned earlier can be used to help keep customers informed of news and updates. In addition to this, they can set up periodic newsletters or e-mail communications. As customers submit their orders, they could record their e-mail addresses or mailing addresses to keep them informed.
