Young children are very venerable and are almost entirely dependent on adults to care for them in ways that help to protect them from harm. This could be physically or psychologically, u must be aware of the signs that a child may be experiencing harm and know the correct procedures to deal with it. You can safeguard the children by following the settings policies and procedures and by carrying out risk assessments to ensure that toys and equipment are safe. Assessing that the setting has no potential hazards for example socket covers on plug holes, hazard materials etc, And to follow appropriate health and safety regulations. You must set boundaries and clear expectations for children's behavior which could upset other children or cause them distress. Observing children and assessing their development and being observant to any indications that their progress is not correct for their stage of development. You will then be able to meet every child’s individual needs regardless of their age and stage of development they are at. You must respect inclusive procedures and not to show favoritism to an individual child as every child deserves equal attention and care. Always be willing to do extra training and update and further your knowledge and skills to ensure you are giving the best care possible.
