Ungifted Setting
Setting: The setting of the book Ungifted takes place in two very different schools attended by Donovan Curtis. Donovan’s first school was Hardcastle Middle school, a typical middle school environment like Franklin Township School, with standard classes and normal students. But Hardcastle Middle School has a gym with a huge hole in the floor thanks to Donovan Curtis. Without thinking he knocked over the Atlas statue and its globe crashed into the gym. Donovan’s second school was The Academy. This is basically where all the geniuses go to. But, Donovan Curtis was no genius!

Characters:

This was The Academy’s chance to beat their rivals, Cold Spring Harbor. But, they could only do this with the help of Donovan Curtis, the one person who could drive Tin Man better than everyone else. But since Donovan had destroyed the Hardcastle gym, Dr. Schultz, the superintendent, had to suspend him from participating in the robotics meet and sent Donovan back to Hardcastle, his old school. So, The Academy had to go to the meet without Donovan and Abigail had to drive Tin Man. Donovan wouldn’t let The Academy down. Donovan was in the audience with his sister Katie, cheering on his former classmates. But Donovan did not stay in the audience for long.

The final round came along and only four teams were left. In the last event The Academy was in the lead until Cold Spring Harbor purposely knocked into Tin Man and sent their hopes to the floor. Donovan was furious. He ran to where his teammates stood and took control of Tin Man. Cold Spring Harbor was now leading, but not for long. Ignoring all of Dr. Schultz screaming, Donovan made Tin Man ram Cold Spring Harbor’s huge robot into the judges table. It was complete chaos followed by complete silence.
