Uncle Nate's Descriptive Essay: The New York Rangers

“And the Chicago Blackhawks have defeated the New York Rangers to win the Stanley Cup for the third time in five years!” the announcer's voice boomed throughout the living room. A smile tugged at the corners of my mouth. I had never been a big Blackhawks fan, but I just extremely disliked the Rangers. On the other side of the room, my Uncle Nate was going nuts. He threw his New York cap down onto the floor and stomped in circles all around it. The Rangers jersey that had cost him more than a year of savings, considering he was unemployed, hung limply from his shoulders. Pillows and couch cushions flew back and forth across the wide room. Uncle Nate’s voice, which at that point was a mix between a wail and a shout, started giving me a headache.
