*George Peregrine and Gilbert Clandon have several things in common. Identify similarities and write a four or five paragraph essay.
George Peregrine from The Colonel’s Lady and Gilbert Clandon from The Legacy were self-centred husbands who share similarities in two main aspects.
A) Mr. Peregrine and Mr. Clandon’s personalities were very similar.

B) Not only were George and Gilbert alike in terms of personality but also in their attitude towards their wives. 1. Mr. Peregrine’s patronizing and underestimating attitude towards Evie 2. Mr. Clandon’s patronizing and underestimating attitude towards Angela

Incapable of Loving
Selfishness is the polar opposite of love. Love gives but selfishness takes. Selfish people are so concerned about themselves that they are incapable of truly getting to know other people. In fact, people with this characteristic are not able to love anybody more than themselves. George Peregrine from The Colonel’s Lady and Gilbert Clandon from The Legacy were self-centred husbands who share similarities in two main aspects.
Mr. Peregrine and Mr. Clandon ´s personalitities were very similar. To start with, Mr. Peregrine was very vain. It is clear that he was conceited and arrogant when Evie, his wife, was invited by the Duke of Haverel to a party and George took it for granted that he had also been invited due to his position as Colonel and chairman of a number of organizations. However, to his disappointment he had never been invited to the social event. Since Mr. Peregrine was so conceited, he was surprised and upset when Evie told him that the Duke did not expect him to go to the party. In addition to his vanity, George was very selfish. He only cared about his image as a member of the Conservative Party as well as the organizations that he was in charge of; therefore, he totally ignored Evie whom he considered a
