Rock Out: The World’s Largest Music Festival just went Uber!

+ =

Summerfest 2013 is nearly upon us and it’s time to go through your checklist:
-Favorite artists performing? Check
-Remind BFFs to save the date? Check
-Preordered Tickets? Check
-Figure out who’s driving after finding out how much parking costs, how hard it will be to find a spot, and that jamming 12 people into a car meant for 4 is harder than it looks in the circus? Errrr, working on it.

Fear not Milwaukee! Uber is here to save the day!
Let us take you to the party in style in one of our many sleek town cars or spacious SUVs free from the worries of parking, traffic jams, and space. This way you can ruminate about the important decisions like is it better to start at the Groove Stage and work your way to the Rock Stage or the other way around.

Couple things to remember:
-Stand out from the crowd! On your ride home, help us help you by choosing a spot away from the chaos. (It’ll make getting picked up so much faster)
-No rocker left behind! Sure, our town cars are sleek and spacious but only fit 4. If your group rolls a little deeper, why not take an SUV? Or if you’ve got so many friends coming that you need a clipboard so you don’t forget anyone, take multiple rides!
-Persistence pays off! If you can’t find a ride the first time, try try again. With over a million die hard music fans rocking out over 11 days, demand will be high but we plan on turbo boosting our supply of drivers to keep up with demand.

And for those of you who have saved your sick days to go all 11 days, we’d hate to see you have to struggle while you’re under the weather. (*cough, cough – for all those bosses reading this) For every 5 rides you take with us, why don’t you take $20 off your sixth? Now let’s just hope multiple days of sun and fun don’t really get you sick. ;)

As individuals carry on in life they develop expectancies. Expectancy is what we expect to occur in a familiar situation. We expect a doorknob to twist clockwise and a light switch to go down when we want the light off. Expectancies are carried over to driving. Dewar, Farber, & Olson (2010), discusses how common practices have been developed while designing vehicles, road-design and signage so that a certain expectancies can be developed. This expectancy allows for drivers to be ready and aware of the situations they may be encountered on the roads. When people’s expectancies are challenged they must adjust and establish…

There is a classic 1980’s movie called “National Lampoon’s Vacation.” The dad has a brilliant idea to pack up his wife and two kids in the back of their station wagon and drive across the country to Wally World theme park. The trip was nothing liked it was planned to be, but the gave the family a chance to be together and bond. And with that kind of movie spirit my dad decided we were going to take our own little family vacation. Except this time there are seven family members packed into an undersized mini van driving up to our nations capital.…
