Emily Sohn wrote “Work less, do more. It’s an appealing idea that’s becoming reality for a growing number of people in Sweden, where some companies are shortening their workdays from eight hours to six or even fewer.” I think that the US should transition into a 6-hour workday, because we can spend more time with our families and it`s better for our health.
If we work 6-hour a day we will have more time for our families. As for me, I am work 10-12 hours a day. I see my family for a little time. And it disappointed me. I want to spend more time with my relatives, because it help me relax, not fall into depression. I will be more happy. To stay focused on a specific work task for eight hours is a huge challenge… In order to cope, we mix in things and pauses to make the workday more endurable. In my experience, when you work more than 10 hours you feel very exhausted. You feel pain in muscles, your brain is “boiling”. In the article “Can a 6-hour workday work?”, the author stated ”People who work too much are more likely to gain weight, fall short on sleep, get in car accidents, suffer workplace injuries and develop stress-related illnesses. Sitting for long stretches of time has been linked to cardiovascular disease and higher risks of death. And as fatigue sets in at the end of a long day, risks go up for eyestrain, headaches and muscle pain, while mistakes become more common.” I completely agree with the author`s
