Maintaining a healthy, restricted diet is crucial for type 1 diabetes management. A type 1 diabetes diet is designed to maximum nutrition, while limiting sugar, carbohydrates, and sodium. A type 1 diabetes diet is focusing on nutritious foods that are high in vitamins and minerals, while cutting down on foods that are high in fats, sugar, or empty carbohydrates. Some basic recommendations nutrition for type 1 diabetes diet is fruits, vegetables, whole grains, carbohydrates, and proteins. Fruit are natural sources of sugar and should be counted as carbohydrates for using a diet plan, which is fresh or frozen, and opt for citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruit when possible. The vegetable would be starch, describe as a form of sugar that naturally occurs in many common vegetables, such as potatoes, corn, and peas. The great sources of whole grains include brown rice, bran cereal, and whole grain breads. There are three types of carbohydrates: starches, sugars, and fiber. They can come in the form of beans, starchy vegetables, fruit juices, pasta, or bread. Carbohydrates turn into sugar in the digestive tract …show more content…
It requires a commitment to regular preventative care and for some is great motivator for positive health changes like losing excess weight and quitting smoking. Good diabetes management also become a lifestyles choice. Seemingly simple tasks like eating meals, going for a walk or bike ride, driving a car, and going away for the weekend will take extra preparation and planning. Daily routines like work and school start to pose new challenges, and special occasions may seem particularly hard to deal with. Even the change of seasons can mean changes in diabetes control.
