The way someone is raised will be the way they view others and the different pieces of society.There are some key factors that change your view on society and that is Culture! In the personal essay “Ethnic Hash” by Patric J. Williams mentions how a variety of things determine how you see the world around you. Either the way you look, the food you eat or it may be the things/the way you learn; it all makes you get judged by others. The essay, An Indian Father's Plea by Robert Lake proves it. An American teacher judges Wind-Wolf, a five year old kid and labeled him as a "slow learner". Apparently he looks like a typical Indian kid, with black long hair and dark brown eyes but he's not proud of it. "Instead of being proud of his race, heritage and culture he feels ashamed", (Lake). He could've got labeled as a slow learner without letting him prove otherwise. Being from another culture and being raised differently can make you say or think stupid things of others. The kids in class make fun of others simply because they weren't raised around those types of people. Their own culture made them look differently at someone else from another culture.
