In multiple times through the H2O it has these weird moments when Ruby the main character has two perspectives of life. One tries to see the good still arounder her and still from life before that terrible rain came. The other side accepts all the caus arounder her like dead bodies everywhere and a lot of water, but she can't drink it let alone touch even a drop of it.
“ “I spy,” I started up with myself, “something beginning with R.”
Road --clogged with dead cars and dead people, the me that was frightened said. I refused to say W (Water! It’s poisoned! It’s poisoned!) as I walked across the bridge over the canal. “I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with Z,” I got in quickly, before the me that felt frightened could butt in. She does this, because every time she tells someone how she feels they end up dying. So now she doesn't show eney emotion except for anger, because that is the only emotion she can show Because, then she won’t care about other people and won't get so attached to everyone she meets. Throughout multiple times she gets mad at Sprattywood, because he calls her Ru, witch only her best friends call her, but all her best friends are dead. Most of the time she just seas in her mind “Don't call me Ru. Do NOT call me Ru.” (308 Bergin) As you can see almost all of her emotions, even anger because even though its anger it still shows a little compassion. And he is the only person she has left in that world of death and destructions. but even though SprattWood is a loser and nobody likes him and Ruby wouldn't be caught dead with SprattWood, and she has been informing him since they first met, a friend is a friend no matter who they are and you cant help but show
