The Two Sides Of Immigrants Immigrants are people that choose to migrate to our country and resettle into a new life. Unfortunately, many of these immigrants are denied legal status and are therefore considered, undocumented. Several of them have no choice but to move here because poverty,violence,drugs, abuse etc. become too much to handle, but moving here gives them an opportunity to improve their future and better it for their families. Studies show that around 484,072 legal people migrate to the United States every year. That may seem like a lot, but shockingly, that does not even include the number of illegal immigrants. It's estimated that about 11.5 million illegal immigrants reside here(reference). After years and years
Sure there are bad ways they impact us, but their are many good ways the affect our country. Immigrants have recently been an argumentative topic in the states. The waves of immigrants have embellished and have provided rich culture, they have added to our population as a nation, which ultimately fortifies our influence on the world(Griswold). Contrariwise, to the stereotype, immigrants do not actually push american citizens out of their jobs. In fact, they take the jobs Americans will not take advantage of, which happen to be on the low and high end of skill level required (Griswold). “ 15% of our population is made up of them and over a third of documented immigrants are skilled” ( Goldin). Not only do the immigrants fill jobs, but they create them as well. It has been said that all immigrant do is force the US to take care of more people. Although that is true, people tend to leave out that they create more jobs in the first place. Immigrants take small business and expand them giving other people the chance to work for them thus adding more jobs and opportunities for Americans
