Both parties have valid arguments and counter points that possibly will never come up with one solution. The continuous battle of contrasting views between both sides will never end.
Pro-life activist believe that the fetus is alive once the baby is conceived. Since the baby is believed to be alive, aborting the fetus is murder. Pro-life activist also believe that a woman should be able to suffer the consequences of pregnancy. If a man and a woman decide to have sex then they should take the proper precautions to avoid pregnancy. A woman should be able to decide what is right for her and her health, her body her choice. Pro-choice activist believe that the fetus is not fully a human life yet, therefore aborting the fetus is not murder. A planned baby should be born having a loving mother and father, a supportive family, and people who would care for the baby. A child born into this type of environment will be able to survive physically, emotionally, and financially. One of the most important arguments is, what if the pregnancy resulted from rape of incest? Having a baby born in this environment creates a greater chance of negligence. In this situation, I believe that abortion should be allowed. It can be a constant reminder of the pain that the woman went through when the child is born. Another argument pro-choice activist believe is that religion should not be used as a foundation of abortion laws. “Freedom of religion is guaranteed to any citizen in the United States; so why would the beliefs and values of one religion mandate actual laws for all citizens? It would be unfair, unjust and immoral. We do not have laws against eating fish, nor do we have laws that declare it is legal to sell one’s daughter, rape someone, or keep a person as a slave—all things that are promoted in religious text.” (Pheo, 2009, para 4) Abortion is also a safe procedure that can be done with little to no
