My Wonderful Trip to Matariz Island
Today was finally the big day, I could not wait and that’s an understatement. Today was the day we left for our week long trip to a private island in Grande, Brazil. Me and three of my closest friends have been planning this trip for over a year now! It’s about five here and we board our plane at six so you could say we are all very excited. After an hour of waiting it was finally time to board our plane, we decided to fly coach to save some extra cash for when we are there. All of us got seated and got ready for are long flight. I quickly dozed off after takeoff. Our plane landed in Brazil where we would now board a boat to bring us to the island. Once on the boat we started to tell that we weren’t in the US anymore, all the different wild life, landscapes, and people made it quite clear we weren’t close to home. We got to our island and were greeted by a fresh smell of warm sand & cool waters. After we got done getting settled in our guides to the island left and now we had truly had our own island. Me and Jacob got one house and the other two got theirs. This was amazing the sun was setting, we were all hanging out on the beach and the water was so calm and clear it looked like glass. After the sunset we decided to call it a night because we were all beat. The next morning I was awaken by the chatter of birds and critters. We made a grand feast of a breakfast our first morning there. The taste of everything just seemed more sweet and tangy because of the atmosphere of the island. After eating we cleaned and then we explored the island a little. As we walked along the beaches they seemed to be more and more smooth here’s a picture of the beach we were walking on.
Then we came upon big rock and it wasn’t normal. It almost felt like velvet but also was waxy and we didn’t know what it was so we decided to head back. Once back at the houses we ate lunch and then took a well needed nap. After my nap we all went swimming and it was amazing! Swimming here is unlike anywhere else; the amount of fish and plants in the ocean here was extraordinary. As we were swimming dolphins passed by us at least five times in under a hour, it was crazy. After swimming we all went back to our house to watch some movies and just relax like we have all wanted to. We also cooked another feast of a dinner for the four of us. We had steak, beans, corn, pork chops, watermelon, grapes, and some amazing fresh bread from the local market. As we finished our dinner we went out to watch the sunset again. I can’t even describe to you in words how breath taking the view is here.. After the sunset, we built a nice little camp fire on the beach and just talked and hung out for a while. Once we all started getting tired we called it a night, and that was only day one... After our week of crazy indescribable adventure and fun, it was time to go home and it was a sad time because no one was ready to go. But we woke up that Sunday morning and boarded our boat to head home.
