The treaty of Versailles, established in 1919 after World War 1 ended, was supposed to repair the damage that the war caused, lead by France, the delegates of the big 3 countries, including France, Britain, and the USA. These were dictators of these three countries, Clemenceau from France, Wilson from USA, and Lloyd George from Britain.These three countries supposedly were going to negotiate a treaty that would repair what catastrophes the war had brought, the famous Peace Treaty of Versailles. Many reparative measures were taken, using Germany as the instigator of the war and therefor the recipient of all consequences, and there were many consequences. However, was there another motive behind the conference for french Prime Minister George Clemenceau? Was there another reason that France agreed to host the conference in their beloved region of Versailles, which had recently suffered a great battle? Was the conference really about reparation? Or, was it about revenge? Getting back what Germany and the war had taken from them,was it reparation, or retribution?
The Peace Conference of Versailles, held in 1919, was of course, mean to come to a peaceful solution and reparation from the trauma and loss that all countries in Europe had witnessed in those past 5 years. All of Europe’s and even other countries officials attended, eager to make repairs to what damage they had all suffered. As a nearly unanimous decision, Germany was decided as the sole instigator for the war, because of their military based government and their dangerous amount of allies, as well as their rapid colonization of the rest of Europe. By making Germany take the sole blame for starting the war, the Entente powers were able to make Germany fund the reparations for the war that had shaken the whole continent.
