Traveling To Honduras
I know that for a fact, if I had a ticket to go anywhere I pleased, it would have to be Roatan Honduras. I will immediately go to the beach to enjoy myself, although I will also help the people that are in need of money to buy their necessities. By helping the Hondurans, and also enjoying the wonderful island will basically be two helpful things, in my opinion. If you have ever visited Honduras, or have heard of how harsh situations can be for most of the Hondurans at the time; you will also agree to why I don’t only want to visit Honduras to disport myself, but perhaps to assist the Hondurans that I spot. I don’t necessarily mean that I will go around observing people, although if I notice someone in need of help then I will gladly assist …show more content…
Be prepared to experience some harsh feelings that you will gain towards the Hondurans, due to the fact that they are so sweet, and only depend on our “tourist” money is devastating. I remember purchasing a bag of “chips”, instead of the bag containing chips, it had dried bananas which looked exactly as if they were what I asked for. I immediately caught on that the Honduran only wanted to sell for the money they would be receiving; that’s when I realized that the Honduran wasn’t being selfish, however he was willing to take the risk for making money (for a good cause). I will stay on the island for at least 24 hours to see as much Hondurans I will see, and possibly change their lives for the better. Always keep in mind that any bit more of either kindness, or money can make the Hondurans feel thankful, and it will also make you feel as a better person. I guarantee that not any of the Hondurans will make you feel scared, even though you don't know any of them they tend to make you feel comfortable around

One story of a young migrant or refugee that I read about is Jose, a Honduran teen. The ways the story opened my eyes are how her friends died terribly along the way. One of them died because of malnutrition, while the other was run over by a train, it shows how dangerous the trip is for these…

There are so many places and things you could do with one ticket. With a ticket in my hand I would choose to go to Barbuda. I have chosen Barbuda due to the conditions all the people on the island were left in after Hurricane Irma came and swept through. 95% of the buildings and homes on the island were destroyed and will cost around $100 million to fix everything. Barbuda is also in the path of Hurricane San Jose and the island is trying to flee the other 1,800 people that haven’t yet fled. One hurricane already did major destruction to this island, just imagine what a second one would do. The people have already lost their homes, and now they will have to settle somewhere new because there is nothing left on…

Not only is Honduras a tourist destination, it was also the first country to be called a “Banana Republic”. The beaches of Honduras are known for their crystal clear water, as well as their powder white sand. I can’t wait to tell you even more fascinating facts about Honduras throughout this paper.…

I've learned that the migrant family is strong and cares about one another. They will also do their best to survive.I know this because in paragraph 1,".... they had been living on frozen vegetables from frozen fields, and birds that the children kill." "She had just sold the tires of her car to sell food."This shows that the mother would give out anything to get food. What I'd also learned is that before doing something she thinks about it for a long time. She even has pros or cons of doing something. That means she is real careful to what she does.I also know this because in paragraph 2 it says,"She debated over the next twenty miles the pros or cons of returning."She would give or do anything to make her kids healthy and safe. She was so desperate…

I would work to earn money. I’d sell things, perhaps have a bake sale, to earn enough money to donate to the foundation Hope For Haiti, which is a charity that focuses entirely on helping Haiti through things like this. They want to help the country grow stronger, and I do as well.…

The city of San Pedro Sula has been crime stricken and run by gangs for several years causing many people to struggle for survival. During your brief discussion in class about the economic pearl and hardships of Honduras, it intrigued me to further look into the issue. Honduras has a vast number of unemployed people and the distribution of wealth is far from equal. This has serious implications on citizen morale and any aspirations of a future in Honduras. This country has serious problems with that of gang violence, wealth inequality, and a lack of stable rulers.…

Salvadoran Americans are known for having a very traditionally rural culture, which has been difficult considering they mostly settle in the large cities of America. America sometimes has the ability to put one’s culture to the side in order to adapt to ours. Salvadorans are big in folklore supernatural beliefs, which exhibit ghosts and spirits that have been passed down. This culture believes in spirits who conduct different acts that can harm or help someone. Due to Salvadoran children becoming more Americanized this tradition has been dying out.…

Now that I have gotten older and comprehend life easily I finally understand what it meant for my parents to be immigrants. One day I built enough courage to ask my father “how did you get to America from Honduras?” understanding that Honduras is a 1,619 miles away and cars and planes were not a choice, my father told me his story. Costa Rica and the United States of America get along quite well. Of course there has been a few bump in the road but nothing bad enough to make us hostile. We are good friends because we help each other out by buying each others products and such. Costa Rica and its relations with other countries are exquisite right now. They have been apart of the international community and have been neutral to most countries for quite some time. Of course it may be hostile to a few countries but everyone seems to have enemies. This country is said to be very beautiful so if I had the time I would gladly visit it and spend a few days on the beach. Things are cheap there and I can be cheap so it would work out great. This country is a very beautiful country that makes its money off of very natural things and I…

I was once on my own exploring the strange country of Okapaka. When I first ran into the people here, I will be honest in saying that I was a little worried. They dress strangely in ostrich feathers and animal furs, and speak no English. However, seeing that I was a guest needing help, they were very warm and welcoming. They offered me food, water, shelter, and most importantly, friendship. They are very kind people and very helpful.…

“The Children of the Drug Wars; a Refugee Crisis, Not an Immigration Crisis” is the name of the article that most caught my attention this semester by Sonia Nazario. An article that talks about different but very similar couple stories about children’s living in Central America. Children that live in very dangerous places where gangs are the big problem. Christian’s story, an 11 year old kid whose father was killed by this gangs members and his mother left to the U.S leaving him behind, is only one of the saddest stories I’ve ever read about. It’s hard to know how many mothers are been forced to leave their children behind in search of a better future. Most of the time as it show in the article they never made it back, and this kids are left…
