Transition Goal Planning In Education
With all of our reading, classwork, and internet searching, I believe that transition goal planning is the most difficult to develop and determine. Every child is different and has unique abilities, weakness, and interests. Transition goal planning requires a lot of forethought, assessments, communication between all parties involved, and the most important, teamwork. Teaching students self-advocate and self-determination skills is extremely important and may require intentional teaching. So, the best way I can answer the questions about how can we develop achievable goals is to get to know the student likes, dislikes, and ask questions about what they like to do outside of school. As a teacher, using both informal and formal transitional assessments

To maintain a commitment to professionalism dedication is the key to success. I dedicate myself to my job by going online to research what I will put in my lesson plans such as arts & crafts, songs and sensory projects. Most of the time I bring work home with me to finish last minute projects that I like to display on my boards. This includes printing out an activity descriptor and pictures that go with the art work the infant/toddler has done. I also like to take a lot of pictures of what we are doing in the classroom especially showing the infants and toddler working on art projects to have it displayed on my board.…

Gray et al (2005) states learners should be able to agree some or all of their learning goals in negotiating with the teacher. The ideal time for this to happen would be at the beginning of the learning process during the initial assessment. At this time of screening the learner would be assessed to find out what their preferred learning style is, if they have any learning or health difficulties or requirements. Their learning experiences, goals and aspirations could be discussed at this time.…

A motivation plan for any school is extremely important for the success of any educational program. Students who are not motivated will not learn and in turn won 't succeed. Many components should be included in a motivational plan so that all the needs of students are met and each student has goals that are attainable and can be reached. According to Hersey (2008), "Goals should be set high enough that a person has to stretch to reach them but low enough that they can be attained." Goal setting, rewards, both tangible and non-tangible, and a sense of belonging are motivational components that should be included in a motivational plan.…

There are many types of goals. Growing up, I always dreamed of being two things: a mother and a nurse. I am blessed to have two wonderful children ages 14 and 16 and have had the privilege of being able to be a stay-at-home mom during their younger years. Now that they are older and a bit more independent, I have decided to go back to school and fulfill my goal of earning my degree in Nursing. Throughout the years of growing and maturing, I have learned how important it is to have good morals, values, goals, a passion for something, and a good education. I have not only taught my children the importance of these characteristics, but I have also shown them that regardless of one’s age or stage in life, that…
