Regarding transgender rights, not only trans men and women should be treated with respect, PoC (people of color) transgender men and women should be treated with the same respect. However, most of the transgender community is white washed and doesn’t help the PoC community. Most of the transgender icons of this generation are white, and the front runner for that community is Caitlyn Jenner. There is no reason to disregard these icons but there is no recognition of PoC transgender men and women. It’s not addressed enough but violence against black transgender women goes past the radar far too often. One gender doesn’t have superior thoughts over others. Furthermore, there needs to be a “gender blind” approach to commerce and everyday things. There will be some things women can do that men can’t do, vice versa, but that shouldn’t stop the progress of society’s right direction forward.
