Throughout the world, 96 countries support the Transgender people who live around us. In the US alone, there are 24 insurance companies that offer benefits for Transgender people, along with sex reassignment surgery (SRS), including Amerigroup, several states with Blue Cross Blue Shield, and even Obamacare. Surgery costs quite a bit of money, and extra things like hormone therapy and original therapy make it even more money. Most everyday people wouldn’t be able to cover these costs on their own, along with some people not even being covered by insurance. Costs in the US for breast, genital, and facial feature surgery along with voice coaching, hormone therapy and original therapy can cost upwards $60,000. Every day people around the world experience what is called gender dysphoria, which is the a person that experiences stress from their biological body not being the gender they identify as. There are so many people that have these feelings every day due to not being able to be okay with their body. There are all kinds of quotable verses in The Bible, which in many are used to prove people believing certain things. this could raise a question like “Why would you change the body that God made for you?”, and I get that the verse is meant to mean that we are perfect in God’s eyes. The thing is, everyone has a different eye for beauty, and we are just trying to be what we believe that is. We are all trying to be ourselves, and in the end that quote really isn’t a good way to justify anything. We all change our looks from time to time, we cut and dye our hair, we get piercings, we get tattoos. If we stayed in God’s image all of our life, there wouldn’t be much room for
