Training Plan Template and Instructions

The purpose of the Training Plan as defined in the BT Grant is to outline planned training for Fiscal Year 2007 for each BT funded position. In completing the plan please use the following process:

1. Have each staff member in a BT Funded position complete the PHP FY 07 Competency Assessment on line at http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/comprep/workforce/workforce.shtm This site is for registered users. If staff members are not currently users or have not created a new user account, they may create a new one by clicking on the CREATE NEW USER ACCOUNT button. After the Self Assessment is completed a report will be generated that indicates needed training. Staff members should print this report for use in completing the Training Plan.

2. The designated person or group at each organization should help staff members find training events around the country that will help them improve their level of competency in the topics in which the staff member indicated a low level of competency based on the Self Assessment. The training events might include on-site or distance learning events such as workshops, courses, conferences, webcasts, tabletop exercises, videoconferences, etc.

3. Complete each section of the Training Plan as follows:

• Staff – Name of each staff member in a BT funded position. • Job/Position Title – Staff member’s classification title or working title for position • Competency– List the competency(ies) from the Workforce Development Competency Self Assessment that the staff member rated as having low competency • Related Training – For each competency, list the title and location (city, state) for each training event that will help the staff member increase their competency. The training events might include on-site or distance learning events such as workshops, courses, conferences, webcasts, videoconferences, tabletop exercises, etc. • Timeline – Date for training, if known,
