As i get done admiring the stadium I get ready for the big race as I prepare I met different cultures of people enjoying myself before the race I had some laughs and jokes and also some cockiness as if this race was mine as we got done I begin to stretched my self til I was flexible as a gymnast and ran out the blocks til I got my feet feeling light as a feather. I was getting ready as If this was my life on the line but to me it was. As it was time wished everyone good luck knowing that I was going to win as I get in my blocks ready as ever focusing on the big prize. As the Wind started to blow sizzling in my ear making it hard to hear bang the gun went off like black cats lit on fire but for me it was hard to hear because the wind was in my

Crack! the gun went off, I took off running and tripped. I got back up right away. “Wow what a great start to the mcquaid invitational.” I thought to myself sneeringly. I round the first corner a big bright orange beam. I stuck with the pack as I went up the hill. When i got to the top of the hill I was gasping for air from the sprint in the beginning of the race and this hill, but when i got to the top a went around a swing set I got a burst of energy and sprinted down the hill passing a bunch of people.…

I stared down into the arena my eyes wide watching as the team a woman and horse prepare to go out. I started down as the horse gets excited about taking off running as fast as possible, the only thing that is holding him back is the rider. I stared down as the horse bolts out into the arena on cue as they race at top speed. Only if this was not only a dream, I have seen this happen many times on T.V., and at the fairgrounds here. But never live, sitting right in the midst of happy cowboys and excited cowgirls at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.…

We lined up in our order that the coaches told us. I was going to be the last leg of the race. By the time that the girls finished, the Caddo were ahead by one second. As we started our part of the race ,it was neck and neck. As sweat dripped down my face, I could feel the pressure getting to me. It was coming down to me. I could feel the roar of the crowd in my chest. Everything was in slow motion. It was now my turn, and everyone was telling me to go. The Caddo were ahead ,but not by…

Through all these thoughts I heard my coach tell me to go warm up. I jogged down to the bullpen and began to toss with the catcher. After I had warmed up I began to pitch. I threw my first pitch right to the catcher's glove and knew that all the offseason work I had put in would pay off and I would dominate the opposing team. After I had finished warming up I went and sat on the bench to look at the opposing team’s pitcher and talk to my teammates. Ten minutes later and it was time to take the field for the first time. We jogged on to the field and began to warm up and prepare for the game. I threw seven more pitches and knew I was ready for the game. The first batter walked up to the plate and dug in, I got my sign from the catcher and began my wind up. I released the ball and it began flying towards the plate. The batter swung and fouled it away. I got a new ball and then got another sign from the catcher. I started my wind up again and released the ball again this time the batter swung and connected. I saw the ball soaring through the sky towards the outfield fence, it continued towards the fence and…

I felt like such a looser I wanted to cry, but I couldn’t because everyone had their eyes on me feeling like a dam about to burst. This was probably the most embarrassing moment of my life as I was on that track. I was about to walk off the turf and not finish, but then I started to he rhythmic clap from the audience and I knew it was for me. At that moment I started to jog to finish line. I had two forces fighting within me one wanting me to give up and there wanting to keep going forward and not letting people down. If the audience can put the effort to cheer me on, the least I can do is finish. I finally finish and I have never been so happy to finish something in my life.…
