1.0 Introduction
All athletes regardless of age, gender, genetics or sport can benefit from effective training. It is important that the selected training improves the body’s ability to perform tasks associated with the chosen sport. (Kiss, 2010) Touch football is a fast paced game where an oval-shaped ball is passed between players who avoid being ‘touched’ by the defensive team, in order to score a touchdown. The game requires a range of demands from the three energy systems; Creatine phosphate, Lactic Acid and Aerobic. Specific fitness components are also required to perform a game of touch effectively. There are three positions in a touch game; centre, link and wing. They all require varied amounts of the energy systems and fitness components. This assignment will focus on the exercise physiology in relation to touch and the evaluation of my own fitness profile. 1.0 Data Analysis 2.1 The Game of Touch
The game of touch consists of two teams with 6 players on each. The aim is to score a touchdown without being ‘touched’. Players are to dodge being touched by members of the opposing team and 7 must be made for the call to change hand of play. After a touch the ball must be put down and a second player collects and passes it while the defence team must be back 10m until the ‘dummy half’ collects the ball. The field is 70m x 50m and features a touchdown zone, 10m line, 5m line and half way line. (See figure 1.1 below) (Touch Football

    The human body operate on three energy systems: Phosphate Energy System, (ATP/CP or CP SPLITTING), Lactic Acid Energy System (Anaerobic Glycolysis) and Aerobic Energy System (Oxygen System). ATP is when an enzyme splits one of the three phosphate molecules from Adenosine Triphosphate and this releases large amounts of energy that the muscle fibres use to create movement, this turns ATP into Adenosine di-phosphate (ADP), However, only a small amount of ATP is stored within the muscles cells, about 10-15 seconds and takes 2-3 minutes to fully replenish. When ATP is depleted the body turn to anaerobic Glycolysis for energy. This process breaks down glycogen and glucose (Sugar and Fat) to produce energy. This process creates a by-product called ‘pyruvic acid’ which converts into lactic acid if there is insufficient oxygen circulating in the muscles. If Lactic acid accumulates, the process of anaerobic glycolysis slows down, resulting in fatigue. This energy system takes 20-60 minutes depending on the fitness level to remove the accumulated lactic acid after maximal exercise.     To begin with, nature contributes a large part of my athleticism. Surely environmental aspects affect this characteristic, but biological influences have a key role in athletic ability. For the most part, the contour of the body is a major genetic component associated with athleticism. All studies mentioned above used health care practitioners (physiotherapists or athlete trainers) to assess injuries. Waldén et al.
