Total Transit Patrol

Our Taxis on Patrol program is a partnership between Total Transit and local law enforcement agencies. During contracting, our driver partners are trained to be observant to their surroundings and report any crimes or suspicious activity that they witness. Drivers can either call law enforcement themselves or they can contact our dispatch to have the information relayed. There is really quite an array of events our drivers have witnessed and assisted with. From domestic violence situations to robberies.

Total Transit’s drug and alcohol program is a full Department of Transportation approved program that consists of pre-contract testing, monthly random testing, post-accident testing and reasonable suspicion testing. Total Transit has a zero-tolerance policy and any driver partner or employee who fails or refused a drug or alcohol test is terminated.
Safety on the road is stressed throughout the day with specific time set aside to review defensive driving principles. After the classroom training, each candidate is paired with a seasoned driver advisor who spends a full day with them on the road carrying passengers. The driver advisor stresses the importance of safety throughout the day and has the final say if the candidate can pass the course and become a driver partner.
