Organizational Behavior Case: Too Nice To People
John has just graduated from the college of business administrator at state university and has joined family’s small business. Which employs 25 semiskilled workers. During the first week on the job, his grandfather called him in and said, “John I’ve has a chance to observe you working with our employees for the past two months and although I hate to, I feel I must say something. You are just too nice to people. I know they taught you that human behavior stuff at the university. But is just doesn’t work here. I remember when we discussed the Hawthorne studies when I was in school and everybody at the university seemed excited about them, but believe me, there is more to managing people than just being nice to them.”

Answer – 1 John is a graduate from the state university & recently entered his family business. During his job he was very good to the people which were observed by his grandfather, as he has taught many human behavior theories during his studies which he was trying to implement but his grandfather stopped him by saying that it doesn’t work here.

Answer – 3 I would say to my grandfather that the attitudes and behavior has changed drastically in the working environment. What I feel is being good to workers creates loyalty with the organization and with their bosses. Workers feels relax & motivated when you encouraged them and they are more devoted & concentrated towards their work.

Answer – 4 I would listen to my grandfather’s advice and try to learn as much as I can from his life’s
