Tone Vs. Mood
Tone vs mood

I went to boston on the weekend with my 2 little cousins, they were quiet and peaceful and that’s not usual for 6 year olds. When we got there we ate chinese food as soon as possible because we were starving. When we finished eating we went and got bread so we had breakfast at home to eat, after that we went to costco and had a boring 30 minutes because we had to wait for my aunt and uncle to arrive. While we were waiting we went to go pick up food for my cousin’s and got clothing for my mom in costco, I was kinda upset because i’m not a fan of shopping. When my aunt and uncle arrived we shopped some more. When they were finished getting food for their restaurant we went to a japanese buffet, there was sushi, noodles, and chinese

In Lord Byron 's poem "The Destruction of Sennacherib" the narrator 's tone is one of amazement. It 's clear to see that he is amazed a how quickly and easily the huge enemy army is wiped out. He says that the enemy 's army was as numerous as the leaves on the trees and that their spears shined like the "stars on the sea", but all the angel of death had to do was "spread his wings" to dispose of them. The speaker seems to be in awe of how little effort it took the death angel to wipe them out, because he says that all the angel had to do was breath on them and they died. Finally, he seems to be in awe of how total the destruction of the enemy was, saying that their idols broke and that their might "melted like snow".…

I met her at the bus station, and showed her a bright pink winter coat. “Emporium Capwell, nineteen dollars! For you!” I said proudly. Recently, June had been going out in only a light sweater, and I didn’t want her to catch a cold. I held it up to her body, but June pushed it away and stuffed it into the bag. “Ma, I wish you wouldn’t do that in public. Besides, the color’s too bright,” she complained. “Tsk, health is most important,” I said. She got annoyed at this, and simply said, ” Whatever. Let’s just get lunch over with.” How can you rush lunch? Lunch is a meal for social interaction and enjoying the food, not just something to be checked off. We walked and talked, not really listening to each other. Soon we arrived at the markets, and there was on fish. “Nikan!” Look! “50 percent off all seafood, only today!” I dragged her over, and started my regular buying ritual, testing the fish and shouting to the vendors. My daughter stepped away from me and took out her cell phone. “Ma, I wish you wouldn’t do that. It’s embarrassing. Let’s just get to the restaurant.” Sometimes I wish I had disciplined her more. I was always too relaxed when she was younger, I had never taught her respect, when to keep her mouth shut. Now it is too late, I cannot teach her anymore. All I can do is ignore her and carry…

It all started last summer, when Mom and I were in LL Bean. For those of you who don’t know, my hometown of Freeport Maine, is the head quarters of all LL Bean stores. It’s a huge complex of stores, including a giant hiking boot out front. There are a lot of kids’ areas, so that the parents can shop, while their kids are playing. Anyways, it was August 25. Just an average day in the life of Marielle (that’s me). “How much longer Mom?” I whined. Until, that life changing moment, I had always been kind of a whiny spoiled brat. Looking back on that, I started to realize that. And suddenly, I got a terrible headache, and felt like I was going to die! I said to Mom, “I have to go to the bathroom,” and frantically ran…

My six year old self was wearing a pink velvet hello kitty long sleeve shirt and jeans that had embroidered sparkles and butterfly designs. Obviously I was dressed to impress. After visiting with my parents for a couple weeks I was about to spend my first night with my new family. My mom is a petite Asian women but despite her small frame she is exerts confidence and has a Type A personality while my dad is a big white guy who is kind and is perfect for my mom because he is Type B personality. Upon meeting them I knew they were perfect for me because I coincidentally looked like my mom and had her stuberness but had my dad's soft side. I already had the night planned in my head, I would go and play then eat a delicious dinner and then convince my parents to watch The Little Mermaid before I had to go to bed. When I got to my new home I rushed to play doctor with the chocolate labs who would soon become my best friends. I was later called to dinner and that's where my vision of the perfect first night crashed and burned. On my plate was a grotesque pile of salad taking up at least a third of my plate. This was not acceptable in my book. I proceeded to give every excuse to not eat The Salad.…

    A Place Analysis

I was raised in a small, but familiar town on the outskirts of Tallahassee known as Havana. A place where everyone practically knows everyone that lives there. My hometown upholds a sense of charm and southern hospitably in the atmosphere, with the many boutiques and restaurants for one to enjoy. However, I feel that it is a place where more mature individuals could appreciate (like adults), due to its historical nature. To be honest, other than going to school with my friends, as a child there really wasn’t much for me to do when the summer rolled in. Especially, since I was the only girl in a house with two brothers. In fact, majority of my summer vacation was spent at home, with my annoying brothers, “The Terrible Two”. Well, at least that’s what I called them, because they were always finding a way to make fun out of torturing me. From being hit by water balloons unexpectedly, to waking with burning lips from the hot sauce they put on them while I was sleeping, pretty much describes the “summer” moments of my childhood; at least the ones spent with brothers. Until, I suddenly had an epiphany, and begged my mother to let me stay with my grandmother while I school wasn’t in; or at least until she made it home from work. Of course she asked why; although she knew how much my brothers would tease me. She just told me it was there way of showing “brotherly” love, but she understood how annoying it could be, because she too was raised among all boys; in which worked out in my favor, because I no longer spent the summer’s home. She accepted my plea to be free from the “Terrible Two,” and Grandma’s house was to be my new location for summer vacation, which I enjoyed every bit of.…

Being upset is a temporary emotion that can be relatively quick to alter. It’s when you’ve found out your favorite sports team lost in the finals, or when you’ve done poorly on something that you expected to do well. It’s not a shallow emotion; it’s just simply not intense. It often comes along with a “let down” feeling. A person can alter their mindset to a happier state because the severity of this sadness isn’t extreme. It’s a sighing kind of unhappiness laced with disappointment or lack of spirit. It is not heavy or dragging but instead is disappointing or despondent.…
