Having assault weapons in the U.S increases the amount of lives being put at risk. People these days won’t be able to go somewhere with knowing if they are safe or not. That shouldn’t be the case, people should be able to go places knowing that their safety mostly secure. Too many people are dieing due to assault weapons, everyone should help put a stop to this disgrace. “Sixteen people died in a shootout in the countries in the south-west hours before Obama arrived for the talks.” (Anne Davis) Now, that this shootout occurred 16 people are dead, now their families and friends lost a loved one. People who own assault weapons do not follow the rules, instead they hurt themselves or others. People who own these weapons are putting others lives on the line. Many believe that it is helpful to own this terrifying weapon they may be right in a few ways but in other ways they are extremely wrong. “A shooting in Atlanta occurred and injured six student” (Rosenblatt, Roger).
