To What Extent Is Homer Responsible For Death In The Odyssey
Killing other humans for a cause seems to be a theme in the Odyssey. This to Homer, the author of the odyssey, is a trait you have to have and overcome to be considered a hero.
There are of course many traits to Homer you need to be a hero, and this is one of the most evident. In the Odyssey through Odysseus’ adventures you see many times he is responsible for death in the eyes of a few of the gods. This means he is most definitely responsible. Homer believes that to be considered a hero you need to kill other mortal humans.
