TO LOVE AGAIN
TO LOVE AGAIN
Radio’s fine
It helps me forget for awhile
I look back and recall
Those days I had with you
Sometimes I need a friend
Just to make it through
Another day without you
You gave me all the reasons to live
Then you had to go
And I just got to let you know
Its hard to love again
Just to make it through
Another day spent without you
[chorus]
And I don’t want to go on pretending
That its going to be a happy ending
If I should love again
Once I’ve learned to love again
And, no, it will never be the same
Without you baby
This pain inside me is driving me crazy
‘Cause, its hard to love again
Friends are great
They cheer me up for sometime
When the day is done
My mind is back again with you
Oh God, I need a friend
Just to make it through
Another day spent without you
[repeat chorus 'til fade]
SO CLOSE
You’re in my arms
And all the world is calm
The music playing on for only two
So close together
And when I’m with you
So close to feeling alive

A life goes by
Romantic dreams will stop
So I bid mine goodbye and never knew
So close was waiting, waiting here with you
And now forever I know
All that I wanted to hold you
So close

So close to reaching that famous happy end
Almost believing this was not pretend
And now you’re beside me and look how far we’ve come
So far we are so close

How could I face the faceless days
If I should lose you now?
We’re so close
To reaching that famous happy end
And almost believing this was not pretend
Let’s go on dreaming for we know we are
So close
So close
And still so far
A SMILE IN YOUR HEART

VERSE 1:
I had a feeling that you're holding my heart
And I know that it is true
You wouldn't let it be broken apart
'Cause it's much too dear to you
Forever we'll be together
No one can break us apart
For our love will truly be
A wonderful smile in your heart

VERSE 2:
When the night comes and I'm deep in your arms
How I feel so much more secure
You wouldn't let me close my eyes
So I can see you through and through

You're a sweet

Return to Paradise is a film that has a lot of meanings within the story line. But also has many ethical issues among the morals that are in today’s society. Three ethical issues in the film are capital punishment, drug use, and media treatment. Capital punishment is an ethical issue because it is highly opinionated. Some people believe that people shouldn’t have to die to pay for their crime, while others believe that death is the best way to pay for what they’ve done as a consequence. This makes an argument that if someone has killed another human, should they be killed too? It makes it hard in different countries as their laws may be different and death penalties can really occur and happen. Drug use is also an ethical issue because they believe they aren’t harming anyone and a majority of the drug users want illicit drugs to be legalised. A lot of today’s society argues that the drug users affect more than just themselves such us driving under the influence of drugs, can lead to other innocent people into serious injuries or death in a crash. Media treatment is another ethical issue in the film; this is because M.J Major wanted the story to get out so bad it was more important than Lewis’s life. This is an ethical issue because the media have the rights to tell the story to the public but in a bit to try save Lewis’s life instead of just telling the story.…

    Chapter 4 Enduring Love

    • 1182 Words
    • 5 Pages

Chapter 4 the use of retrospective view point is prevalent, we see Joe and Clarissa trying to get on with their everyday lives, we see Joe trying to get on with his work as he goes to the library, where he becomes consumed in the confusion of earlier events, and his failure to identify his personal fears. Whilst in the library he becomes aware of a person pacing behind him and identifies the individuals shoes as the same as Parry’s. In terms of action within the novel very little action takes place within the chapter but some key narrative aspects are used, such as structure in order to show a certain emotion and an insight into Joe as a character.…

We start the chapter with a description of Parry through Jed “No longer the Indian brave, despite the pony-tail”. McEwan really sets the scene with this as it gives us a clear picture of how Parry actually is. Shortly afterwards Jed’s scientific side comes out as he starts to re-assure himself that Parry is really harmless and that is was the accident that clouded his judgement. We feel a sense of relief as we now are told Parry is not threat as he is a “harmless fellow with a strange notion”.…

I can't believe I really thought you were different, different than all the guys out there. Everyone kept warning me: he's a player, don’t fall for him. But I was too blinded by all the sweet things you told me, the way you always know what to say to me to make me melt. I kept telling myself you weren't that person when you were with me. I actually thought…

Though my girlfriend and I have been dating for over three years and the excitement of a puppy love relationship is no longer there, I know our love is a strong true love. It is human nature to strive to find a significant other, but is it natural to put yourself through torment because you think you are in love? It was brought to my attention through movies that the end of the flick it is a happy ever after ending. In reality this isn’t how it really is, I know because I have experienced a long term relationship. It is very apparent in the reading of The End of the Affair by David Sedaris, it shows how a long term relationship is not cracked up as to be thought.…

Plot: Woman gets call at work from her father, telling her that her mother is dead. Father never got used to living alone and went into retirement home. Mother is described as very religious, Anglican, who had been saved at the age of 14. Father was also religious and had waited for the mother since he first met her. They did not have sex until marriage and the father was mildly dissapointed that the mother did not have money. Description of the house follows, very high ceilings, old mansion it seems, with chimney stains, it has been let go. Jumps in time to narrators ex-husband making fun of narrator fantasizing about stains. Next paragraph is the father in a retirement home, always referring to things: ‘The lord never intended.’, shows how old people have disdain for new things, the next generation appears to be more and more sacreligious. Shows streak of meanness when ‘spits’ out a reference to constant praying, narrator claims he does not know who he is talking to, but appears to be the very pious mother. Following paragraph jumps back in time to when narrator was a child, she asks her mother constant questions about her white hair and what color it was, mother says she was glad when it wasn’t brown like her fathers anymore, shows high distaste towards her father, the narrators grandfather. Mother claims hate is sin, that it spreads throughout your body like black ink in water. Next paragraph jumps to older narrator, discussing her name, Euphemia, how they called her Phemie at home, but when she started to work she called herself Fame (hated her real name), dialogue between her and a bar guest, which is where she worked, at a bar in a hotel. Shows the type of place and type of people she converses with on a regular basis. After that the next paragraph jumps back to 1947 when Euphemia was 12 (so she was born in 1935), she was helping her mother paper the downstairs bedroom because her mother sister Beryl was coming to visit. Her mother…

    To Live

    • 1245 Words

The novel, To Live, by Yu Hua was banned in China when it was first published because the novel exposed the faulty rule of the Communist party in China. This literary masterpiece depicts four decades of Chinese history, including historic events as the Sino-Japanese war, the civil war, the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Mao’s Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. During this time of culture and history, the main character, Fugui, experienced many endeavors in life. Ironically enough, the novel is called "To Live" when so many of the characters die in the story. Fugui is the only significant character in the novel that remains alive at the end of the story. The author, Yu Hua, beautifully articulated the political turmoil of the Chinese Civil war into the literary perspective of Fugui’s life and thus the novel, To Live, manifested. Hua portrays the civil war in different stages to embody Fugui’s life and growth as a person throughout the novel.…

Enduring Love opens up with a visual opening of a freak-like accident occurring to rescue a boy from a hot air balloon. This event serves as a symbol to the righteous postmodern novel. I plan to demonstrate how McEwan presents obsession in Enduring Love for an audience of classmates that seems to be for people as a form of truth if confronted by a distressing situation. McEwan centers the book on a real mental condition called De Clerambault’s Syndrome, which the character Jed Parry has. McEwan also tries to put into account sub-plots of Joe’s life and relationship with his partner Clarissa.…

The confines of true love can be heartbreaking as is. Maybe, you and your love interest have a close knit social circle, or your neighborhood or tribe are extremely small, or you’re both married and you shouldn’t be in love with each others. “In the Mood for Love” has love become confined within the idea, that they should not be seen in love due to their current commitment to their spouse, especially in a 1960s conservative Hong Kong. Wong Car-wai constructs this fantasy world surrounding the two main lovers to tell a story about forbidden love and the fight to not fully express that love no matter how strong the urge is. He takes us on a journey of self-reflection into our own urge to express love. The film’s contrasting treatment of the lover’s…

    Sorrow of Love

In the rural south in the years 1880- 1995, women worked with the new hope that their sons and daughters would one day escape from the southern staple-crop economy, with its connected hardships and saddened opportunities. Maud Lee Bryant whom was a farm wife from North Carolina stated: “My main object of working was wanting the children to have a better way of living, that the world might be just a little better because the Lord had me here for something, and I tried to make good out of it, that was my aim”. Although in these woman’s words I find a great amount of pain, her strength is very visible. It is obvious that no matter how hard her life is, she tries to see her hardships as opportunities instead of feeling sorry for herself. A large amount of sharecroppers rarely stayed on the same plantation for more than a year or two for the reason being that their quest for household and group anatomy represented the tangible legacy of slavery. Although black families worked large amounts of hours they achieved neither consumer status nor total self-sufficiency due to the repressive labor system they worked for. It is right to say that black women were living a life of irony, although black women would pick cotton all day, they were never able to wear a cotton dress because of their low income and although they would work in agriculture as well, they barely survived on inadequate protein-deficient diets. Although blacks represented one-third of the southern population and 40 percent of its farmers and farm laborers, they were by no means the only penniless agricultural group. In 1910, nine-tenths of all southern black who made their living from the soil worked as tenants, sharecroppers, or contract laborers and most barely eked out enough in cotton to pay for rent, food, and supplies. During these years, a system by which a dominant…

Unrequited love is a love that is not openly reciprocated. The one who is adored may or may not be aware of his/her admirer’s romantic affections. They also may ignore their admirer out of lack of interest or the presence of another lover. “Let no one who loves be called altogether unhappy. Even love unreturned has its rainbow” (J.M. Barrine, The Little Minister).…
