To Become An Optician

To become an Optician you will need a high school diploma or equivalent. Many opticians go to college for a 2-year associate’s degree in opticianry, which involves coursework in basic anatomy, eye anatomy, algebra and trigonometry, optical physics and mathematics and administrations. There is not really any early courses to take in high school beside your basics in math and science. Training for opticians who take the apprenticeship path are required to undergo a 2 to 4-year period of on the job training under the super vision of a licensed optician. Licensing and certification requirements for dispensing opticians vary from state to state. Some states require applicants to have an associate’s degree or apprenticeship of 2 to 4-yers.
