To Be a Better Student
To start with, the most important way I think to become a better student is to do all the hard work first. Once you get home, your mind is still alert. If you do the easy homework first, you will forget how to do the hard homework. Subsequently, you can wrap up questions at the end of the chapter. By this, you can review about what you read, and you can understand more about what you read. Following, you must join in class discussion. Join, and you will get more knowledge about the subject being taught. Afterwards, you can do long term projects a little by little. You can get the project done faster than cramming it all into one night if you do this. Cram it all in one night and you will be tired out and will not be able to think correctly. Trust me, I’ve did it once. Next, you must have all materials in one place. This way, instead of walking to get what you need and getting distracted by the surroundings, you could just get what you need right in front of you. Do not be disorganized. I used to always do this and it wasn’t very good. One time, I got so distracted that at 10:30 pm, I realized that I still had homework. Just by little things, it is very easy to get distracted. Finally, you could use different print or sizes to indicate importance. Repeatedly, if the teacher says something and you think it is important, circle it, highlight it, or do anything that will help you remember that it is

    * The two most useful tips I found are, making studying part of your daily routine, and managing my study time wisely. These are useful to me due to the fact I tend to put things off until the last minute. By incorporating studying into an everyday schedule allows ample time to complete the task required. Many times, teachers want a student to just push back the information that was taught. Both my history class and phycology class was like that so I made flashcards to remember definitions. There was not really a need to go beyond that for I knew I was not going to get tested that way. Moreover, when it comes to a classes like math I never had to remember definitions it is all about actually doing the work. I always turn my phone off when it comes to studying because I know that I will stop studying to read a text or see a notification which interrupts my concentration on the subject. When I study, I try to go someplace quite so I can concentrate. Some people like to place music; but that is something I cannot due because I get to easily distracted. I am someone who has always struggled when it comes to math so I do fall into the category of believing there are some students who are inheritably good at certain subjects. This is a belief that is an excuse, as the professor alludes to, for me not to study harder for the class. A way to change that would be for me to carve out time and study more for the classes I do not like. For me it is easy to study history because I like it and sometimes I do spend too much time studying for that subject because I like it and not enough in the subjects I struggle in because they do not interest…

As for future students, my main advice would be time management. I understand it is difficult, as many of us have much going on in both our personal and professional lives, but read the chapters early in the week. Second, take notes! There is a major difference between studying and simple reading. You can retain the information more effectively, and you can also refer back to your notes.…
