Great is an adjective that most people desire to be qualified with. It is what shows other’s admiration toward a given person. However, there are many great people that are not found, or at least they haven’t received the required honor during their lifetime. This is due to the fact that most of the great people are not understood or are misunderstood by the others. Great people introduce new ideas and the new is hard to be perceived by common people, so they start to blame the great people and accuse them in wrongdoing. Sometimes normal people make themselves closed for the great because of their envy and hidden feelings.
People often say: “Great minds think alike.” It is like they have their own language that is unreachable for the simple common people in the world. Great minds might think the same way, understand and admire each other, but most of the times they are social outcasts during the time they are living in. Years after their death, people, having more knowledge, start to understand what they were talking about and to appreciate their achievements. Unfortunately, these great people don’t know about this, don’t know that they are immortal in common people’s minds.
It is a common occurrence that many of the greatest scientists of all times were considered strange and with some type of mental problems. The reason for this is that they could be qualified with the term great. People such as Einstein weren’t understood and their discoveries and philosophies were refuted during their lifetime. Their society decided that they are insane and all that they are talking about is nonsense which disorders people’s views. That is why they were considered enemies of the society so they had to work on their own. This prevented them from discovering even greater things.
