The aspects of time that we can understand are only based on what we can perceive, observe, and calculate. Every day we look at our watches or clocks. We plan our day around different times of the day. Time tells us when to eat, when to sleep, and how long to do things for. Is time real? To answer this question, let me explain what time is first. Time is defined as a measured or measurable period, a continuum that lacks spatial dimensions. This broad definition lacks the simple explanation that humans are searching for. What is time and how should we make use of it? Time is observed by the Islam, Judaism, and Christianity religions as moving forward “in a straight line from the beginning of the universe until its end.”(Molloy, Michael. Experiencing the World's Religions: Tradition, Challenge, and Change / Michael Molloy. New York: McGraw-Hill Companies, 2013, pg. 15.) Time is valued since it is not guaranteed. Buddhism views time as periodic. Changes in the universe continue over large extents of time. Buddhist’s do not value time, as much because they do not think it’s “real”, they believe that the universe will not end. They like to live more in the present rather than worry about the future.…
