Time Lost Income
When you have experienced a car wreck, the financial tolls that can be the aftermath can be devastating. Not only are you dealing with having to get your car fixed, you may be injured because of the accident. When it is because of the negligence of someone else, you have the right to be fairly compensated for the income you will lose while you are recovering from the injury.
An injury resulting from a car accident can easily cause you the need to take time off from work. Unfortunately for some people, their jobs do not include paid sick days or even vacation time. They may have to take an unpaid leave of absence or beg for time off to recover. If you have a job that offers sick days, you still may not have enough of them left to fully recover from your injuries. You may be wondering if you are able to be reimbursed for the time that you have to take off of work because of an injury that is the result of a car accident. That answer is yes.

Lost income may include not just what the victim would have made at their job if they hadn’t been injured, but additional compensation regarding their injuries.

Lost income is described as the amount that you make from your employer, which may be paid either monthly, weekly, or every other week. It may be by direct deposit or in the form of a company check. If you are not able to work because of a car accident, the money you lose from not going to your job can quickly add up. While you may have sick days to use or vacation days left over, these should not be counted as time off because of the accident. You should not have to use your vacation days because of someone else’s negligence.
