There are a lot of people discussing that how to educate their children in the best way from then until now. Parenting, which is very important and effectual to the children, influences children’s mental, emotion, thought and behaviours. There are two major distinctive parenting styles in the world, Western and Eastern styles. American parenting and Chinese parenting have a significant difference, which is talking about how they treat their children, expectation, and children’s freedom.…
Parenting is taking full responsibility and liability of a human being from the time they are born all the way until adulthood. Parenting is not just being a mother or a father. It is supporting a child in every way possible; spiritually, financially, emotionally, and physically. The way one parents their child depicts what kind of person they are. It is a personal preference that points out different and unique things about a person. For example, some parents or families have traditions or beliefs that say their children must be raised in a certain religion. Another example would be a parent who did not agree with the way they were brought up; they can then make a decision that they will do the opposite of how their parents raised them.…
Are you an Authoritative or Permissive when it comes to parenting your child? In ways they are positive and negative for the child as they are growing up. Each way gives a perspective on situation should be handled; but in most of these cases when a child is told to do something it is hard for them to “Comprehend” how it needs to be done. That is when parenting comes into play and the child when then to receive and retain or to deny and rebel…Even though it is an action a parent can control sometimes how they bring up the child from birth sets them in a distinct path which is hard to get out of.…
Another type of parenting is permissive parenting. This involves the adult giving the child anything they want, when they want. This would not be very good for the child as it will have no sense of disobedience and the parent will not discipline their child. There would be no rules or boundaries set for the child meaning there would be very low expectations, this would not encourage the child to work hard. Permissive parents would be very loving and nurturing towards their children but may often take on the role of a friend rather than a parent. Children need discipline as much as they need nurturing so the child would have no consistency in their life.…
Tiger parenting is what many people believe is the strictest kind of parenting. I have read many articles about tiger parenting and stories about it. Children that have gone through it and have later became an adult say they will never parent their kids like that. They believe Tiger parenting is on the border of being child abuse. For example, Aaminah Khan in “Fatherly Forum” talks about Sam Wolfe Connelly His childhood life, having a father as a tiger parent and his father's father being a tiger parent. Sam wolfe describes his father telling him that he is not that tough on him compared to his father when he was younger his father said, “Father used to tie me to a chair in order to make sure I did my math homework. This shows how tough Tiger…
Parenting is a big part of every ones lives; it makes up who you are as a person and in many cases projects who you will be in the future. Some adults have trouble manipulating their children and teaching them what is right from wrong, while others have a much easier time doing so. In my opinion there is no such thing as “the perfect parent”, both the mother and the father have their flaws, but what matters is that the parent is always there for personal support. To me a good parent is someone who is always there to support there children in both good and bad terms, and a responsible adult that can supply for their kids necessities, not necessarily all the luxuries that they want. Another key point to being a good parent is to be a good leader, all kids look up to their parents and most of the time follow their parents footsteps and part of being a good leader is being a hard worker. A parent that is supportive, responsible, and a leader and hard worker all make up to be a great parent in my opinion. In the stories Scar by Amy Tan, My Fathers Hands by Daisy Hernandez, and the poems Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden, No Longer a Teenager by Gerald Locklin all tie up to the universal theme of good parenting. Even though some characters in the story struggle to be the perfect parent they desire to be, some are successful in doing so while others just cannot do their duty.…
The first parenting style is authoritative which also tends to be the most successful type of parenting. Authoritative is when a parent is not being sheltering of a child but making sure the child has an understanding of the rules and regulations the parent has set in place but they explain the reasoning behind the decisions they make. Many of these children grow up to be very respectful of the needs of others. The children of an authoritative parent may also have a much higher self-esteem and are popular amongst their peers. An example can be setting a curfew and making sure the child is in the house by that…
In the article, Adapted from Battle of Hymn of the Tiger Mother the author Amy Chua’s intent is to describe the differences between Chinese and Western parenting styles. She begins by explaining her personal parenting style and although her parenting style brings controversy it also demonstrates what a parent will do in order to help their children be successful. After all, a parent’s true purpose is to do what is best for their children.…
There are many different ways of parenting children. Some are more favorable than others and some can even damage one’s emotional future, causing problems such as anxiety, unhappiness, and other low self-esteem issues. Although there are four distinct parenting styles, many parents are often somewhere in between a couple on the scale.…
“Tiger parent”, this term was appeared in recent year. This term represent the parent who are strict and demanding to push their children to gain a high achievement. Besides, the education attitude of some parent towards children were also too strict. The meaning of high achievement, in my point of view is that the strict parent want their children to perform well not only in the academic field but also the non-academic field. For example children need to be the best in school and to become winner in every match. Some people state that this attitude of strict parent can lead children to have a better future. I am not agree at all, I think this type of parent will lead the children to have a bad future.…
I think a parent should be a loving and caring person. If the parents aren’t loving and caring, they may not care for the child properly. Also, I think the parents should be calm and happy. If parents cannot stay calm and happy, they will have a hard time being patient and babies of course need patient caregivers.…

Parenting is a complex activity that includes many specific behaviors that work individually and together to influence youth. A parenting style is defined as a psychological construct representing standards, strategies, and mindsets that parents use in child rearing. Developmental psychologists have long been interested in how parents impact child development. Theories and opinions concerning which ways are most constructive in rearing children, as well as how much time and effort should be invested, vary amidst different people and different cultures. Many parents create their own style by merging selected components from two or more existing parenting methods; these may evolve when the children develop individuality and their own personalities as they move through life’s stages. Moreover, parents often learn parenting practices from their own parents; some may be emulated while others may be avoided. Parenting styles affect how well a family may function as a system, as well as increasing the risk of troubled behavior as the children grow up and move into adolescence. In this essay, I will be explaining the four most well-known parenting styles: authoritative style, authoritarian style, indulgent style, and neglectful style; also, I will briefly explain some of the effects they have on children raised within each style.…
Every parent around the world has experienced a point in time when they find themselves questioning their own parenting methods. Each parent has a particular way of doing things making it effortless to lead to accusations and opinions of neighboring parents, especially those of different culture. Judgment of parenting in today's society is very prevalent and highly controversial. The difference of cultural upbringings can be quick to spark the ever so famous argument of who is right and who is wrong. Author Amy Chua shares her opinion of how kids in Eastern and Western cultures are brought up, the stringent versus more relaxed disciplinary actions taken, and some different stereotypes that follow.…
“[Nature and nurture are] a convenient jingle of words, for it separates under two distinct heads the innumerable elements of which personality is composed. Nature is all that man brings with himself into the world; nurture is every influence that affects him after his birth” (Fancis Galton, 1874). The Nature/Nurture Philosophical perspective is most applicable to the article.…
