In the Odyssey, three obstacles that Odysseus goes through on his journey home are Polyphemus, Circe, and the suitors in Ithaca.One obstacle is Polyphemus because he was the cause of death for some Odysseus men. This obstacle shows the reader that Odysseus can create a plan to get out of his obstacles.
