Three Main Causes Of World War I

WW1 was a brutal battle that spread to many countries. Every country was trying to overpower each other and make everybody else like them. The 3 main causes of WW1 were militarism, alliances and nationalism; countries were building up there militaries, the alliances were surrounding another alliance, and nationalism was over ruling the countries. Militarism is a domino effect. One country starts to build up there their armies and other countries notice and start to build up there’s. In Document 1 by Gordon A. Craig, he showed a chart of money from countries that was spent on military armaments. As the years rose the prices raised. Great Britain was the country spending the most money. This increased war probability because once Great Britain increased their money spent on weapons so did everybody else inducing weapons and progression to be ready for war. In Document 6 by Count Brockdorff-Rantzau, he held protest stating valid point to prove militarism was a cause. He pointed out that the military leaders instigated the way helping to start it, but never helped to stop it. There were possible way to prevent the war but they wanted the war to happen, which is why they all stocked up on military weapons.
In document 2, there is a map of the alliances. The triple alliance is surrounded by the triple entente. This made the triple alliance very uncomfortable, causing them to complain. Then the triple entente started suppling up on military supplies frightening the triple alliance because they would have to fight every corner of their alliance, while the triple entente had a country for every side. In document 4, there is a quote. The quote is saying who is responsible for World War 1. Germany was the one to accept the responsibility stating it was Germany and their allies.
