Thomas Friedman My Favorite Teacher Analysis
I have chosen “Hero's/Role Models” as my theme. I had always admired people who brought value into this world. They play a great role in my life as they helped shape my individuality and perceptions. I wouldn’t be the person that I am if I didn’t have someone to look up to. Reflecting on these individuals whom I call role models, I feel this theme is befitting to my experience. I have chosen to read and write about “My Favorite Teacher” by Thomas L. Friedman. Teachers are on top of the list when it comes to my biggest influencers. They are the ones I spent most of my childhood with and whom I learned the most from. Friedman’s essay is relatable in his writing of a teacher's impact on his life.

The person who influences people in such a positive way deserves praise and recognition. A great example of how an influential teacher can change a person's life is in the short essay, “Unforgettable Miss Bessie”, by Carl T.Rowan. In the essay, the author describes his experience with a certain teacher and how she changed so many lives in a positive way. Rowan states “They knew the measure of a great teacher:love and motivation. Her wisdom and influence has rippled out across generations”(414). By believing in her students and supporting them through their hardship, the teacher had ultimately given the students…

Like any story, my theme connects to real life. This theme is connected by showing that people who are selfless, content, and courageous are good people that are rewarded for their actions with a prize or just a feeling of doing what is right. In order to advance in life, you have to be a good person. When people are greedy, evil, and cruel, they are punished for their wrong doings. The people who are evil receive consequences for their actions. In life, you don’t have to go out of your way to be good, but the people who go out of their way to be evil don't get anywhere, as shown in this…

I have chosen to become a teacher because I myself am a product of someone whom I consider to be the best teacher in the world. As a child in Virginia, I was inspired by a wonderful coach and teacher named Mr. Scott Nunnaly. Mr. Nunnaly taught me that any dream was possible. If I put my mind to accomplishing any goal I could make it happen. Mr. Nunnaly inspired me to be the best I could be at anything I wanted to be. Through my childhood…

What grade were you in? The teacher I choose to write about is a High School educator whose name is Mrs. Wright. I had her from my sophomore through my senior year. She was the resource teacher for these grades. I have test anxiety, have has it since I was a young child, and she could get me through without having a panic attack or having to go to the ladies room to puck. This woman was always there to support me while I work through the good and tough times in school no matter what it was. A kindhearted woman, that truly cared, no matter who you were, and what problem you may be facing. She always put a smile on your face and happiness in your heart. She always assisted me when I needed it or if I did not grasp something, she would make…

    How To Improve My Writing

Over the course of my years of schooling I have had many teachers. I’ve had some of the best such as my fifth grade teacher, Mr. Moore, who taught me how to learn math, my eighth grade science teacher, Mrs. Turner, who taught me to have fun in school, but still be serious, my tenth grade chemistry teacher, Mrs. Huggins, who made class hard also made it enjoyable at the same time. The best teacher I have ever had thought taught me one of the most important things in life, how to write. She may not have been the nicest lady as she gave me my first detention in ten years of school. (To this day it was still my only detention) Her class was the second hardest class I ever had in my four years of high school; the only thing harder was AP psychology,…

    Teacher of Year Essay

First I want to tell you with whom I honor, with whom I have, learned to respect, and who deserve the outmost admirations. The teachers I am talking about work hard to do a great job, because, above all, it is a kind of responsibility so to speak towards their students and relevantly toward themselves. I have had several teachers in my years as a student both in the primary and secondary schools among which there were only few whom I felt to fit the description above, maybe most of them were good in their own way, but one cannot be sufficient in all ways or I may also have misunderstood them. However, the teacher that I chose as deserving of the “My Favorite Teacher” earned this title due to the care she showed to each of her students through her teaching, personality, and the all the fun had in her class is Ms. Fleming my writing teacher. Ms. Fleming is an open minded, caring person who seemed to love what she is doing. Ms. Fleming is more than a teacher to me; she is a person you could go to with a problem and she would try and help you find the answer. She would help you, but expected you to put the work into finding out for yourself how to do something. She always came across as someone who cared about every student as if they were her “children”. Ms. Fleming is like a book that gives you the right information that would help you on getting a six on the FCAT writing. About 95% of her student’s agree that Ms. Fleming spent each day preparing us for the FCAT writing in thirteen days. The first time I walked into the classroom I notice a flaming red headed teacher sitting down. I thought that she would be a boring, and mean teacher giving her student’s a lot of homework and essays to write. Every word that comes out of her mouth sounds like music to my brain. When it comes to teaching she doesn’t let out a lot of stress, most of the stress comes from whether or not her student’s would receive a four or higher on the FCAT writing. When I’m in class Ms. Fleming have…

An outstanding educator possesses unique qualities that set him or her apart from others in the field. Ask any student about a favorite teacher and listen intently as he or she describes that person with a smile. Ask a parent of a child who will enter first grade in the fall about the teacher choice for their child. The parent would describe the outstanding educator in their desire for that special teacher. The qualities of an outstanding educator are easily recognized by those whose lives they touch, shape, and change on a daily basis. It is in this writing piece that they will be described and discussed.…

My educational philosophy is developed from my own studies, my experiences in the classroom, as well as teachers who taught me that stand out in my memory. All the teachers who have influenced my life in one way or another possess similar traits. Regardless of the subject, they delivered it in a form that quickly caught my attention. They made even the most complex topics seem extremely easy as they lead me through them. Knowledge was almost always concrete, as they made it relevant to our lives through our experiences. They have instilled in me a love for learning. These teachers are the teachers I admire. They have, in one way or another, contributed to my philosophy of education: I am a facilitator, not a specialist whose job is merely to transfer knowledge to learners.…
