Third Great War: A Short Story
. Like those dissenters battling Mother Country were her children.
“Freedom becomes fragile when we alienate the past. The Third Great War was born out of the world’s ignorance to remember our tribulations. We easily forgot our history in the mass of pleasurable indulgences, and we became delicate. But never again. William Montgomery?”
I removed my hand and turned to face her in attention. She pulled out brass wings and the five flags of United States, Mexico, New Australia, Japan, and Canada.
“Are you ready to become American?”
I could only give a hasty nod. If I had opened my mouth, I’d succumb to my emotions. Roberta, standing a bit behind the president, was sniffing and crying.
“Then, son, raise your right hand and repeat after me.”
I repeated every word of my sworn declaration clearly with my eyes never wavering from

She goes forward. Backward. Diagonal. In complete circles!” TOO THIN Larry was my superior. He was bald, six feet seven inches tall, and I could see every bone in his body. Hence his very self-explained name. “Whoo whee, she is one mean bull!” He slapped the topside of the wing. “But you treat her like a lady and she’ll love you forever.”
“How does she convert to a water vessel?” I asked as I skimmed through the manual. I was sitting down below with my manual as TOO THIN instructed on the mechanics of the plane.
“For water missions, we use the Stratosphere Jump. The plane auto shifts into water mode during jumping. We also utilize the Jump to travel from one side of the earth to another.”
“The what?” It sounded like something Charlie would get giddy about. He probably already knew what it was.
“The Stratosphere Jump is a vortex of vacuum molecules. They’re basically molecules without a nucleus. Nothing inside. So when matter enters the vortex, the molecules accelerate the matter in the direction it is traveling, trying to fill in that empty

I agree with Samuel Adams letter to James Warren because its actually realistic then George Washington quote from discussion board 1 back in September revolved around why history matters. "No people tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued , when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the contrary, when people are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign invaders." At first I did not get the last phrase but when i went back and read it I believe from my perspective that it is saying we do not need society or the government to make us do anything. Some of us are naturally ignorant to where it goes in one ear and out the other to the…

Martin Waugh has now planned and captured over 100,000 photographs of water in flight, taking thousands of pictures at a time, in the hope of capturing that one special shot. ‘Fluids in motion fascinate my senses’, he says, ‘they tickle some faint physical memory, like a scent evoking a forgotten mix of feelings’. He describes water collisions and splashes as sculptures that reflect a perfect balance of dynamic forces. Waugh says that setting the equipment up is the easy part of it all – the hard part is the timing and manipulation of the liquid. He says that he still ‘dances and chortles’ when he manages to capture a specific collision or drop that he planned. Waugh says that his photography shows ‘physics infinite beauty’, and that he enjoys watching other people view his work; as, to him, it seems to strike a chord with everyone, which is ‘unbelievably satisfying’.…

In the Great War there were two different alliances. One was called the “Triple Alliance and was sometimes referred to as the “Triplice”. This was a military alliance between Germany, Italy, and Austria- Hungary. This was a secretive alliance for reasons that were unknown, perhaps to keep each country safer against the Triple Entete. This was an alliance between three other countries, France, Russia, and Great Britain.…

Ellis argues that modern day American’s take their freedom for granted, and act like there was never another possible outcome. He compares the founding fathers as actors in a play, with their lines written by God, and that there was no doubt the good guys would win to prove this point. While in reality, many soon to be Americans had either absolutely no idea they would win, or only hope to satisfy a gnawing feeling of doom in their gut.…

The Disasters of War (Spanish: Los Desastres de la Guerra) are a series of 82[a 1] prints created between 1810 and 1820 by the Spanish painter and printmaker Francisco Goya (1746–1828). Although Goya did not make known his intention when creating the plates, art historians view them as a visual protest against the violence of the 1808 Dos de Mayo Uprising, the subsequent Peninsular War of 1808–14 and the setbacks to the liberal cause following the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy in 1814. During the conflicts between Napoleon's French Empire and Spain, Goya retained his position as first court painter to the Spanish crown and continued to produce portraits of the Spanish and French rulers.Although deeply affected by the war, he kept private his thoughts on the art he produced in response to the conflict and its aftermath. He was in poor health and almost deaf when, at 62, he began work on the prints. They were not published until 1863, 35 years after his death. It is likely that only then was it considered politically safe to distribute a sequence of artworks criticising both the French and restored Bourbons. In total over a thousand sets have been printed, though later ones are of lower quality, and most print room collections have at least some of the set.…
