The other way I showed the client I was listening to him was by using minimal encouragers and by connecting content from previous sessions to the current one.
4. The one skill I wish I would have used more was reflection of feeling. I was happy that I was able to improve on this skill compared to the second session, however, I would have liked to use this skill a bit more. I also did not practice confrontation in this session. In this session, I was able to use reflection of feeling, content, meaning, and minimal encouragers. Also, I was able to practice a little bit of goal setting at the end of the session with my client.
5. One personal experience that came into play when working with the client was I had a similar experience after Fall Break. Just like my client, I have a long commute to school and after break, it was difficult completing that drive. Also, my client discussed being exhausted that first week back which was something I also struggled with. I was able to relate to the client’s struggle of getting back into the school routine and it allowed me to empathize and connect with my

The life of a counselor is spent by talking with and listening to people. The main point of the counselors’ job is to interact with their patients and advise them on personal, family, educational, mental health and career problems they might be experiencing.
