Things Fall Apart Religion

During the year, the Sophomore class studied multiple cultures, including Afghanistan, English, French, Nigerian, and Soviet cultures. Although these cultures had many differences, they all shared one common unifying element, religion. In A Thousand Splendid Suns, all of the characters practiced the same religion, Islam. The taliban use religion to unify the citizens in Afghanistan by enforcing Islamic laws and customs. In Things Fall Apart, the Nigerian tribes practice a traditional polytheistic religion. Different members of the tribe remain unified under their common religious beliefs and practices, until they are introduced to Christianity.
