Chapter I

I. INTRODUCTION

Knowing a business’ inventory in small scale business may be hard task and can be inaccurate at times especially if you maintain it manually. Maintaining records on these sheets of papers is time-consuming and it takes a lot of patience to do so. Misappropriation of these records will result to misplacement and damages. Possible errors and shortage and overage will also occur most of the times. Hence, manually recording sales where there is a rapid change in technology is obsolete.

With technology rapidly changing and upgrading every now and then, companies must adopt to be able to excel in each business’s competition. It is convenient that even small businesses will acquire a system that will suit the requirements and necessities of them and indeed, they have to keep pace with the latest trends. Having a database sets you free from countless paper works as computation of the day’s sale and keeping track of inventory are done automatically.

With these things in mind, we hope upon the completion of our proposed system, retailing inventory system will provide an easy way and an accurate way to know the ending balance of a business’ inventory especially made for small-scale merchandising business such as groceries. Through the use of this system, loss will be minimized and greater client satisfaction will be achieved. In this way, on the part of the business, they will know immediately the most demanded products, and will help them avoid over stocking of products. It will also help in knowing if they are earning their desired profit, or already undergoing a loss, and all the transactions dealing with their products will be input effortlessly. Through the help of this system you conduct business transactions with ease as you only have to press a few keys. At the end of the day, all transactions will be properly documented and generation of reports will just be a few steps away.
