There Come Soft Rains Analysis

There are two authors that I would like to compare and contrast. Not their actual stories, instead how the authors who wrote the stories. The two stories are The Landlady wrote by Roald Dahl, There Will Come Soft Rains written by Ray Bradbury and they will both be reviewed. The two authors use satisfying writing styles and genres and a different audience in which the main characters talk to. But, they both write suspenseful stories and give their characters a good background and also good plot for the story in which on how it’s going to end. They also have kind of the same writing styles and both know how to get a reader shocked and surprised. The first author that will be compared and contrasted on and talked about his unique writing styles is Roald Dahl. Roald Dahl has wrote many stories with a dark sense of humor like “The Landlady” which he used the two main characters of the story Billy and the landlady and he described their different personality and their own thinking in which a part of story of The Landlady when Billy is trying to figure out why he knows those names on the check in book and
Ray Bradbury wrote a book “There Will Come Soft Rains” which he went a little further of detail and perspectives. The main character is not a human or animal but it is a smart house that is in the year 2026 and the story follows its perspective of living and daily task. Ray Bradbury had the story setting about a smart house still standing after all humans and buildings have been destroyed and Ray Bradbury also uses the features about what the house does. Ray Bradbury’s style of writing is somewhat dark but intense and intriguing and also figurative language. The common theme of the story is the house’s empathy because of how the house shares its daily life jobs and what time to do it and Ray Bradbury switched storytelling into an object that we live in and wrote on how it felt and it’s mandatory
