Theoretical Framework(s)/ Contextual Literature: Severe depression is a very common disease that many people suffer from, but it is just a mood disorder. The symptoms can make they way you feel, act, and even handle your everyday activities harder to handle. Dealing with the symptoms for more than fourteen days is when you can be diagnosed with depression(in text citation). Symptoms of this can range in all different types of feelings. Feeling hopeless, loss of interest in activities, and a decrease in energy are just some of the symptoms. Not everyone that is diagnosed with depression suffer all of these symptoms. Some of the dogs are used in investigations for illegal drugs and arrest. Dogs have a great nose that is helpful in finding drugs. There sense of smell is so much better than any humans. Dogs are not only used with police men they are also used with fire men. They can be used to to sniff out the item used where arson took place. With their excellent sense of smell they can smell the most tiny amount of accelerants that were left in homes or even on people's clothing(in text citation).Accelerants make starting fire easier and make them move faster. Dogs are also commonly found helping out guard on the United States border. They help the guards patrol to make sure that nothing illegal is coming into the United States. They are used to make sure that smuggling does not happen. Dogs help in so many other groups including the military along with other animals, and they also can help with psychical and mental therapy. Many animals that have been used in the Military have saved many lives during their time. The military have used more than just dogs they have used animals such as: horses, pigeon, chickens, and the list continues. Horses are the only ones that are not used today during war. The war is not the best thing for the service animals since most of them do not make it during their service but some do make it and help save lives of the fighters
